John Hall, Vermont Fish and Wildlife

State game wardens take to the woods and waterways each day to enforce Vermont's fish and wildlife laws. It's job that requires extensive law enforcement training, and that often has wardens investigating criminal activity that goes beyond specific violations of fish and wildlife regulations. We talk with Col. David LeCours, the state's chief game warden, and Greg Eckhardt, who was just named state game warden of the year, about the modern job of game wardens. Listen

Also in the program, Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, talks about President Obama's nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. Listen

And, VPR's Bob Kinzel followed action in the Vermont Legislature over the weekend, and gives an update on the last must-past bills as lawmakers head toward adjournment. Listen
