Chopin's 200th

03/01/10 8:00AM

Chopin's birthday is generally celebrated on March 1st, though the actual date is a little unclear. We do know for sure he was born in 1810, so we're siezing the opportunity of his bicentennial to feature lyrical works like his Barcarolle, Scherzo #4, and Fantaisie-Impromptu. We'll also hear his fanciful variations on Rossini's operatic melody, Non piu mesta, and for a GRAND grande finale, Artur Rubinstein takes the stage for Chopin's first Piano Concerto.
