Blades carving through the ice, the roar of the crowd, the sting of a slapshot...the sounds of playing hockey are unmistakable.  We celebrate the start of the Winter Olympics with a look at the sport of hockey!   We discuss its long history in the northeast, explore its traditions, and talk about why people love it. 

We hear from the president of the Vermont State Amateur Hockey Association, Fritz Langrock, the President of the St. Albans Skating Association, John Cioffi, and former pro player and founder of Full Stride, Dan McFall. Listen 

Also, United States Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will be in Vermont over the weekend.  We catch up with him to hear about national agricultural initiatives of interest to Vermont's producers. Listen

And, we learn more about one of the Winter Olympics' more obscure sports, curling.Listen
