Steve has been with VPR since 1994, first serving as host of VPR's public affairs program and then as a reporter, based in Central Vermont. Many VPR listeners recognize Steve for his special reports from Iran, providing a glimpse of this country that is usually hidden from the rest of the world. Prior to working with VPR, Steve served as program director for WNCS for 17 years, and also worked as news director for WCVR in Randolph. A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Steve also worked for stations in Phoenix and Tucson before moving to Vermont in 1972. Steve was honored in 2007 with two national Edward R. Murrow Awards for his reporting on VPR.

Gubernatorial Candidate Brian Dubie

There may be five Democratic candidates for governor but on the Republican side, one name is on the list: Brian Dubie. We continue our series of interviews with the 2010 gubernatorial candidates in an interview with Dubie. The Air Force Reserve and commercial airline pilot was elected to four terms as lieutenant governor starting in 2002. And now the former school board member is making a bid for the state's top office. Listen


Also in the program, a tour of the Harvest Cafe at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. The state's largest hospital is making an effort to connect the food people eat in the hospital with their personal health, with a lesson in environmental sustainability thrown in.
