This has been a hard month for local government leaders in both Burlington and Montpelier as two separate financial controversies came to the public's attention: Burlington Telecom and Scott Construction. In light of these recent events, Vermont Edition will tackle questions of government transparency. Does good government sometimes require secrecy or does the public always have the right to know? Email your thoughts and questions to vermontedition@vpr.net

We'll also talk with Tig Tillinghast, board member of the Upper Valley Medical Reserve Corps, and then answer some of your letters and emails.
