Governor Jim Douglas says the impasse over the state budget wasn't just about politics, but policy that was at stake. Either way, the Legislature adjourned the first half of the biennium having overridden two gubernatorial vetoes. Gov. Douglas is our guest to examine the outcomes of the legislative session and how he and the Democratic leadership at the Statehouse will work together going forward. (Listen)

Also in the program, bat expert Scott Darling explains why he's lobbying for federal funds to research white nose syndrome, a mysterious illness affecting vast populations of bats in our region. Darling is a wildlife biologist with the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife who recently testified to Congress on the pressing need to determine the cause white nose syndrome. (Listen)
