Vermont Fishing

Lake Champlain and the Battenkill River are famous for their fishing and the number of Vermont anglers has been on the rise in recent years, bucking a national decline. State officials and fishing enthusiasts hope to maintain that trend, but there are some challenges - chief among them invasive species, which threaten to disrupt the ecological balance of Vermont's rivers, ponds and lakes. We'll talk with a state biologist and a sportsman about how to keep the fish biting in Vermont.

Also, veteran journalist Candace Page talks about the impact of cormorants on Lake Champlain. Since arriving in the early 1980s, the big black birds have multiplied dramatically and efforts are underway to control them.

Plus two Vermont women set out to discover and rate Vermont's coffeeshops on a Website called Coffee Stops Vermont.
