Also, this week Governor Jim Douglas signed legislation to
officially recognize Juneteenth as a holiday.
Juneteeth recognizes African-American emancipation from slavery, and is
celebrated on the third Saturday June. The
director of the Vermont Juneteenth Committee, Shirley Boyd-Hill, joins us to
talk about the holiday's history and how Vermonters plan to commemorate the
