Vermont National Guard

Vermont guard members are bracing for another possible deployment: this time to Afghanistan. The Department of Defense has told the Vermonters that as many as 1900 of them could be deployed in 2010. Adjutant General Michael Dubie says preparations are already underway. He’ll discuss how the deployment will affect soldiers and their families and the lessons learned from the guard missions in Iraq. (Listen)

Also, reporter Candice Page offers some insights on the recent face- off between the Douglas administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. (Listen)

Plus, a trip across the southern end of Lake Champlain on a ferry that's been in operation since the late 1700's. (Listen)
