NEA Opera Honors
The recipients of the new NEA Opera Honors were announced on May 13.
Our program celebrates the achievements of the honorees: soprano
Leontyne Price, conductor James Levine, composer Carlisle Floyd, and
impressario Richard Gaddes. We'll hear Floyd's opera Susannah; Acts 2 and 3 of Tosca with Leontyne Price; various performances conducted by James Levine; and perofrmances by several of Richard Gaddes's "discoveries," including Kiri Te Kanawa and Edo de Waart.
