What Happened to Health Care?

The House and Senate health committees had goals of extending the state's health care programs to cover more Vermonters who are lacking health insurance. Those plans fell short as the Legislature finished its business this spring. We check in with Sen. Doug Racine and Rep. Steve Maier about whether the state has done all it can in this budget environment to provide health insurance to Vermonters. (Listen)

Also in the program, we visit the Family Place in Norwich, where young single mothers are learning how to make jewelry as part of a job and parenting skills program.

(Listen)

And we continue our essay series, "My Vermont," in which listeners describe the advantages, challenges and meaning of life in Vermont. (Listen)
