Lobbying the Legislature
While all eyes are on the politicians this week, plenty of other people are also busy working in the Statehouse. We go "behind the scenes" and examine the role that lobbyists play in shaping the legislative agenda, and informing lawmakers about the issues.
Then, on the afternoon of the governor's annual State of the State Address, we talk with former Governor Howard Dean's press secretary, and speechwriter, Sue Allen, about what goes into crafting the influential speech.
And, then we turn to some of the youngest people who spend their days in the Statehouse. Legislative pages are easily recognizable in their green blazers, and they're responsible for delivering messages to lawmakers throughout the session. We hear about some of the highlights and the challenges that come along with the job.
