Rural Broadband Access
High speed internet access doesn't reach many rural areas of
Vermont. In those spots, people still rely on slow and
unreliable dial-up service. But now some
small towns are banding together and finding ways to provide broadband
services to themselves. We talk with some of the leaders
of these grassroots efforts, and explore how they're overcoming the challenges of bringing broadband
statewide.
Also, Quebec is paying farmers to create buffers between their farm lands and Missisquoi Bay. We look at the pilot project, and what example it sets for Vermont. And, remembering writer Grace Paley.
