In this episode:
Police officers are prepared to face anything while their on
the job. But a few high-profile incidents in recent years have raised
questions about how police are trained to respond when an incident
involves a person who is mentally ill. We talk with Cindy Taylor-Patch,
the training coordinator at the Vermont Police Academy, about new
protocols that aim to heighten officers' awareness of mental illness.
The "right to dry": Jane Lindholm talks with legislator Dick
McCormack, who wants people to give their clothes dryers a rest and
make it easier to hang laundry out on a line.
VPR's Steve Zind takes us to the Main Street Museum, a collection of oddities in White River Junction.
