In this episode:
Jane talks with Gary Nabhan, one of the pioneers of the local,
"slow food" movement about why the diversity of local foods is
important.
Indigenous Vermont foods, like the Gilfeather Turnip and Abenaki
corn, are making a comeback. We talk with Tom Stearns of High Mowing
Seeds and Sylvia Davatz of Seed Savers Exchange about why these
half-forgotten varieties are worth saving, and how you can save your
seeds for future gardens.
And we remember poet Grace Paley, who died Wednesday night at age
84. The Thetford resident was noted for writing, and her political
activism.
