The Bittern
(HOST) Commentator Ted Levin has been out with a tape recorder again, this time in pursuit of a bird that's fairly common to our wetlands, but not easy to see.
(LEVIN) I'm here in Coyote Hollow on the morning side of midnight. The moon is half full and covered by a layer of gauzy clouds and mist that's rising up from the pond and the wetlands...
... It's right back against that line of alders, standing perfectly still, just like a cluster of broken reeds, bill pointed skyward.
