Tim Johnson's Pepperoni Pizza Dip

Tim Johnson is VPR's Online Producer.

This is the perfect hot dip to serve for a group of hungry football watchers.  It's always a big crowd pleaser and easy to make.   And it gets a creamy consistency when you reheat it.  If you like pepperoni pizza, this will be your gooey nirvana.

One 8-ounce cream cheese (softened)
½ cup sour cream
1-2 tsp. of oregano
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
3/4 cup pizza sauce
½ cup chopped pepperoni
½ cup chopped scallions
¾ cup shredded mozzarella

Blend together cream cheese, sour cream and spices. Spread evenly in a quiche dish or pie pan. Spread the pizza sauce over the cheese mixture. Sprinkle the pepperoni, scallions and cheese on top. Heat in 350-degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is heated through.

Any cracker/dip chip with a little heft will work for a dipper, but carrots and other veggies work great, too.
