Setting The Harris Hill Ski Jump Tracks

Freed Harris founded the Dartmouth Outing Club in 1911. When he moved to Brattleboro, he turned his attention to promoting recreational sports in that area. Harris started a group that built a ski jump hill, opening in 1922.

Eventually Harris Hill fell into disrepair. After a three-year hiatus it was renovated and reopened in 2009. It is currently the only 90-meter ski jump in New England.

in 2011, as the facility prepares for its annual ski jumping competition, the event's Technical Director, Dan "Mouse" Warner explained to VPR's Susan Keese how the tracks get set on the ski jump.

Here are some photos she took of the process.
