VPR Listener Picnic Highlights
Thanks to everyone who attended the 2008 VPR Listener Picnic. Here are a few photos of the picnic!

Stuck in Vermont from Seven Days
Eva Sollberger of the alternative weekly paper Seven Days came to the picnic and sent this video postcard for her Stuck in Vermont video blog.
The UVM Morgan Horse Farm is one of Vermont's historic treasures. On
Saturday, September 20th, the farm hosted VPR's listener picnic. The weather was perfect, the horses were frisky, ad over 500 VPR listeners enjoyed the music of Mike Martin & Trio Gusto and Banjo Dan and the Mid-Nite Plowboys
Our Special Guest
Tom Ashbrook, host of On Point, was our special guest. Tom spent
ten years as a foreign correspondent in Asia and was deputy managing
editor of The Boston Globe until 1996. He was enlisted by NPR to host
emergency coverage of the 9/11 attacks through WBUR in Boston, where On Point is now produced. Vermont Edition host Jane Lindholm turns the tables and interviews Tom about what it's like to host On Point and much more.
Live Music
Music for the picnic was provided by:
Banjo Dan and the Mid-Nite Plowboys, New England bluegrass at
its best. They've just released their first CD in eight years, "Fire in
the Sugarhouse." Visit their site here www.banjodan.com.
Mike Martin and Trio Gusto are working on their first CD. Mike is a VPR commentator. Trio Gusto plays Gypsy Swing and French Chanson.
