GOP ticket because he identifies strongly with Republican moderates.

Illuzzi is moving closer to seeking the Republican nomination for state auditor. Illuzzi is gathering the necessary petition signatures to run in that
race and the deadline for filing is a week from Thursday.

whether to run, but he’s asking voters to sign his petitions now because the
deadline for filing is a little more than a week away.
A report by
the state auditor’s office has found that money taken though theft, embezzlement or wire fraud has been
reported missing from 16 school districts in the past 12 years.
State Auditor Tom Salmon says people who hold his job should be appointed,
not elected. He
says that would take politics out of auditing. But his Democratic opponent, Doug Hoffer,
isn’t so sure.
