A new study has found evidence that some teenagers are at higher risk
for substance abuse because their brains work differently, in ways that make
them more impulsive. The same study has also found that different networks in
the brain seem to be connected to symptoms of ADHD.
During the Jim Crow era, some
African-Americans or biracial Americans who were physically able chose to pass
as white. A new study co-authored by a UVM professor finds that passing still occurs today, but that
instead of passing as white, some biracial Americans are now passing as black.
