Some of Vermont's best known ski Olympians trace their roots back to the same hill: Pico Peak in Mendon. And many are looking back fondly on the mountain and the extraordinary couple who started it this year as Pico celebrates its 75th anniversary.

Killington resort got its first dusting of snow this week and the resorts' new president hopes it's a good omen for the upcoming season.

With all of the fresh powder from the most recent snowstorm, many people will be heading to the mountains for skiing. And that raises the possibility of more search and rescue operations for lost skiers.
