In a debate sponsored by the
Burlington Free Press, Vermont’s gubernatorial candidates were asked if they had seen any evidence
of the highly partisan, negative style of Washington, D.C., politics in the state’s elections this year.
Republican gubernatorial
challenger Randy Brock says Gov. Peter Shumlin has spent too much time away
from Montpelier. But Shumlin’s campaign says many
of those trips were for official business.
Castleton’s Planning Commission is
working on changes to ridgeline zoning regulations. The commission says there’s widespread
agreement that commercial development shouldn’t be permitted on at least 20 peaks.

for governor has come out sharply against the statements Mitt Romney made
regarding people who rely on government support.

calling for major changes to Vermont’s
regulatory system for health care. Brock wants to dissolve the newly created Green Mountain Care Board
because he says its members are unelected officials who aren’t accountable to anyone.
