Shumlin Reaches Out To New Quebec Premier

Governor Peter Shumlin reached out Wednesday to the newly elected premier of Quebec to congratulate her and to pledge to work together in the future. Shumlin says the new premier was familiar with the work that Vermont has been doing, and with the trade relationship between Quebec and Vermont.

Asbestos Mine To Reopen After Loan From Quebec Government

Last week, the Quebec government of Premier Jean Charest announced that it would extend a $58 million loan to Balcorp, a Montreal company that owns the Jeffrey Asbestos Mine in Asbestos, Quebec, which has been closed since November.
