Sanders, a 39-year-old, tousle-haired radical from New York City had defeated the incumbent Democrat Gordie
Paquette for mayor of the city. And he started a political revolution.
The leaders of Vermont's three major political parties all say strengthening
the state economy is a top priority in the coming year. But they all have different
strategies to achieve that goal.
With all the attention focused on the contest for governor, some political analysts think the Lt. Governor's race
will be decided more on the personalities of the candidates than their stand on
specific issues.
