A strong supporter of basing the F-35 fighter jets with the Vermont Air Guard in South Burlington says the Air Force is delaying its environmental impact report to include the latest census data.

Town officials in Milton have unanimously re-adopted a 2010 resolution that supports putting F-35 fighter jets at Burlington International Airport.

Burlington is one of two finalists the Air Force is considering to be the home of a new generation of fighter jets, the F-35. But opinions are split in the Burlington area on basing the F-35 program there.

Vermont's Congressional delegation has long called for the Pentagon to cut its budget.
