Transitioning to life here is difficult as parents look for work and children start school. In the final installment of our 2010 Vermont Reads series we meet some of the refugees who now call Vermont home.

Each year the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program brings 300 people to the state. Many arrive late at night, with few possessions and just a few English words. In the second part of our series, we'll learn what this journey is like.

This week VPR continues its collaboration with the Vermont Humanities Council's Vermont Reads program during Morning Edition.  This year's featured book is The Day Of The Pelican by Barre author Katherine Paterson.
