A book that's a resource for understanding Vermont's bird populations has just been published. "Second Atlas of Breeding Birds of Vermont," was produced with the help of 350 volunteers who donated thousands of hours compiling the information.

The town of Barre is receiving federal grant money secured by Sen. Patrick Leahy and the U.S. Forest Service to acquire forest land in Washington County.

A community forest created just two years ago in Fairlee and West Fairlee is now doubling in size. The Brushwood Community Forest grew Wednesday to more than 1,000 acres.
