A leading child advocate in Vermont says that a recent survey ranking the state as 3rd in the nation for child well-being has a caveat. 17 percent of Vermont's children live in poverty.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation's Kids Count Study has recently been released. The study ranks Vermont among the top three in the country in child well-being issues.

Vermont is third best in the nation in a survey of children's well-being. The annual Annie E. Casey's report released today shows that Vermont made improvements in children's health, education and in family and community. But more children are living in poverty.
