ANR To Repeal All-Terrain Vehicles Rule

All-terrain vehicles in Vermont will no longer be allowed on state land. The Agency of Natural Resources is repealing a rule that permits ATVs on public land because it says the state doesn’t have enough resources to enforce against illegal activity.

Mission Of State Mapping Project Is Questioned

The Agency of Natural Resources is developing an environmental map of the state that will identify those parts of the state that are suitable and not suitable for wind energy projects. But both supporters and opponents of wind energy think the plan has serious flaws.

State ordered to improve stormwater controls

Within the next few weeks, the state will tell about 400 property owners in Chittenden County that they have to help control stormwater pollution. The Agency of Natural Resources will impose the new regulation in response to a court order. The court said five streams have been damaged by run-off from parking lots and streets and they need to be cleaned up.

ATV meeting draws overflow crowd

An overflow crowd of nearly three hundred filled a Montpelier auditorium last night to weigh in on a proposal to allow all terrain vehicles limited access to state lands. The Agency of Natural Resources has proposed allowing ATV access in designated areas to connect existing trails on private land.
