"When it was clear that Donald Trump had won the election I felt similarly dazed and full of dread as when JFK was murdered and when 9/11 happened. This persisted for a few days intensely, then mildly.
"However, since the Women's March, and because the Women's March was such a large national phenomenon, I have felt much better. The march was energizing and thrilling. I marched in Boston. Elizabeth Warren and the mayor of Boston both spoke.
"Since then I've been madly sending out postcards to support or deplore this or that. I now feel American democracy is vibrant. We're still a nation of laws. He won't be allowed to get away with just anything. I am delighted that Bill O'Reilly is off the air (a Trump-like figure) and that social pressure did it. I wrote in praise of all the sponsors who left his show."
