"I am feeling horrified. The actions and rhetoric from the Trump administration undermines all that is good and meaningful in the world: compassion and generosity to those less fortunate; nature and wildlife; art; decency, integrity and respect; justice, fairness and hope for world peace; I could go on.

"Concern for the well-being of the people of this nation is not even a pretense anymore.

"One thing in particular that has disturbed me is the way the major media outlets are covering the presidency. Trump is a narcissist, and the media is playing into his hand. The coverage has along the lines of 'Trump takes a new tack' or 'Trump makes gains as his agenda wins House support' and the like: it's all about perception, spectacle, and 'winning and losing' — the actual impact of the policies passed and proposed are given scant mention. I do not believe this approach serves the best interests of the public. While lots of people are more awake and engaged — the one positive I can see — many, many good people are tuning out, choosing to disengage so as to preserve sanity and get through the day."
